They Made This is a contemporary art store which has just opened a brand-new Christmas store on 37 Neal Street, Seven Dials. Founded by award-winning advertising art buyer Aine Donovan and her partner Eloise Jones, a product designer, Aine and Eloise are experts in the area of contemporary art and curation and now have over 50 artists on their books.
Two artists have exclusively signed up for the duration of the Christmas shop and will be at the store this weekend:
Originally from Northern Ireland, Margo has been living and working from her studio and shop in Margate and Ramsgate on the Kent coastline for the last decade with her family. Her beautiful original paintings and prints have been lighting up Instagram during lockdown with messages of empowerment, friendship, sisterhood, hope and love wrapped up in a portrait style and colour palette you are unlikely to see anywhere in illustration.
Originally from France, Marylou Faure completed her Masters in Art Direction and Graphic Design at L’ESAG Peninghen in Paris before moving to London in 2012. She has since collaborated with global brands and agencies, providing illustration for a broad range of digital and print projects. Specialising in character design, playful style. Above all, Marylou believes in using her skills for good and enjoys working on projects for a strong social or ethical cause.
Additionally, the Seven Dials Winter Festival is taking place this weekend from the 19th-21st November. Events and live entertainment, plus late-night shopping on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Besides the opportunity to buy affordable limited-edition artwork, Seven Dials and Covent Garden comes alive during November and December and is a lovely destination to spend the day and enjoy the magic of Christmas. Daily snow moments on the Piazza every hour, Disney's Frozen takeover and a traditional Christmas Village means you can spend a day at Covent Garden shopping and enjoying the festive atmosphere!
As well as the new store, They Made This is holding a Christmas Graphic Art Fair in Shoreditch, London - 4th & 5th December '21 - 10.00 am -7.00 pm. Friends and families can kick off their Christmas shopping at an alternative art extravaganza. Besides the opportunity to shop limited edition artwork from as little as £15, visitors can try their hand at screen printing workshops, as well as commission their own artwork from the residence artists - all while enjoying the first mince pies and mulled wine of the season!
