One Hundred Shoreditch, East London’s newest hotel opened its doors recently and we were one of the first to visit and check-out this exciting addition to Shoreditch's ever-changing landscape. Prominently located on Shoreditch High Street, the design-led, independent hotel is home to 258 bedrooms and suites.
One Hundred Shoreditch offers the largest choice of restaurants/bars within a single hotel in the area, this includes; three bars, a restaurant, a coffee shop using local roasters Ozone Coffee, and a take-out hatch ensuring that there’s something for everyone at any time of day or night.
The bedrooms and suites are designed to be your retreat from the vibrancy and energy of the area, providing headspace and calm in the heart of Shoreditch allowing you to disconnect from the outside world.
Our room was filled with natural light from the large windows which offered incredible sweeping views of East London. Bespoke artwork by Jacu Strauss adorned the walls whilst the comfy seating and vast lounging space made us want to relax in the room all day! But, of course, we had to leave at some point to try-out their highly-lauded seafood restaurant Goddard & Gibbs.
Inspired by England’s fishing villages and coastal towns, Goddard & Gibbs is a casual, all-day restaurant specialising in British seafood with a focus on ethical sourcing and local suppliers. From oysters to ceviche and fish stew to dry-aged ribeye the menu offers an array of dishes and flavours. We, of course, tried the fresh oysters to start and the seabream ceviche - both were super fresh and full of flavour. Following this we enjoyed the grilled lobster and chips - a truly decadent classic!
If you just want a drink with friends, The Wine Bar is the perfect space to wind down. The wines on offer represent a mix of modern, forward-thinking producers sitting alongside more celebrated regions, complimented by sharing plates. As a playful extension of the restaurant, the Hatch is a fun addition to the Shoreditch High Street offering an easy way to order seafood and snacks to eat on the go.
In the basement, drinks visionary Ryan “Mr Lyan” Chetiyawardana has opened Seed Library – a laid-back bar where the drinks harness a rich manifesto of heritage ingredients to create new takes on favourite serves with a cleaner, differently composed balance sitting alongside a handpicked selection of beers and wine.
The true showstopper - The Rooftop at One Hundred Shoreditch offers incredible panoramic views of East London, alongside a menu of Champagnes, sparkling wines, cocktails and spritzes. Pink marble accents and lush foliage come together to create a space that feels like a private garden in the heart of Shoreditch and which can be privately booked for events.
The hotel also features a creative hub, a gallery and art space, The Workshop, which showcases rotating exhibitions, events and pop-up retail spaces to bring guests the best of East London’s buzzing and original cultural scene.
One Hundred Shoreditch is the perfect place to immerse yourself in one of the most creative communities in London. Here you’ll find some of the most eye-catching street art in London, some of city’s best restaurants and pubs, edgy galleries and brilliant independent shops right on the hotel's doorstep.
