Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort launches exclusive Aqua Villas

Set amidst 18 hectares of lush tropical flora and fauna on the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort is the first Pullman property in the Maldives.

Surrounded by lush vegetation the resort boasts a natural lake and golden beaches, plus one of the region’s largest and deepest lagoons. As well as its stunning location, guests will never go hungry, as the resort offers one of the most generous, all-inclusive holidays in the Maldives, complete with a variety of culinary delights available at six outlets across the island.

This all-inclusive resort boasts 122 decadent villas and, included in this for a truly unique experience, are two brand-new exclusive Aqua Villas featuring bedrooms submerged beneath the turquoise waters, exposing guests to the island’s vibrant marine life and endless coral reef.

With water temperatures slightly cooler than many other islands, the richness of the marine life and the colours of the coral are unparalleled and this is the only place where divers can spot up to 13 species of sharks in the water. The Aqua Villas are a rarity in the Maldives and Pullman is proud to be a leader in immersive travel for this destination.

These new Aqua Villas, at 1,216 square feet, have two bedrooms - with one submerged beneath the turquoise waters exposing guests to the island’s vibrant marine life and endless coral reef. Guests can discover the magic of the ocean whilst enjoying the invigorated comfort that Pullman Maamutaa Resort has to offer. The Aqua Villas are a rarity in the Maldives and Pullman is proud to be a leader in immersive travel for this destination.

The villas’ design stands out, with the focus placed on marine life. Not only is there an aquarium as a bedroom - which provides an open view of the living creatures – but there is also a private pool, a second bedroom looking out across the ocean, and a beautiful open-air bathroom. Guests can always see what might be swimming below through a glass panel on the floor.

The villas are in a prime position to watch the sun rise and are only a short walk to Sol Rising - the hotel’s healthy café serving breakfast treats and healthy juices. Complete with a large swimming pool, also facing east, it is the perfect location to relax in the early hours.

Pullman is a great believer of balancing work and play and over at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort there is so much more than just sitting back, sleeping and sending the odd e-mail. The Aqua Villa Experience nurtures childhood curiosities and brings them to life. It’s the perfect balance of both play and rejuvenation and these moments are something to share with the world. The villas offer the chance to enjoy the serenity of diving, without the need for a tank. They’re an exclusive aquarium that is unique and for the sole use of Pullman’s lucky guest.

The Aqua Villa Experience by Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort brings the underwater to life in more ways than one and, with the resort’s all-inclusive offering, this might be more affordable than one might believe. Pullman thrives on making the impossible possible.

Following the success of the event last year, Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort is staging its second wellness event in January 2021. The event will be led by the Pullman Global Wellness Ambassador, Sarah Hoey. With experience spanning two decades of professional fitness, including highly successful stints with the US Navy and the NFL, Sarah Hoey will be leading a series of fitness activities with a traditional Maldivian twist, as well as various activities including: beach workout, Stand up paddle boarding racing and a meditation class in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Rates at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort in Aqua Villa start from £4,855 per night based on two people sharing. This includes the generous all-inclusive meal plan and exclude transfers from the airport to the resort.
