A Cut Above: Bricco e Bacco Brings Sicilian Steakhouse Excellence to London

London’s dining scene is ever-evolving, yet some arrivals feel as though they were always meant to be here. Enter Bricco e Bacco, a Sicilian institution with over two decades of acclaim, now gracing the capital with its effortlessly refined yet authentically rustic approach to regional Italian cuisine.

Situated in a space that exudes understated elegance, this new outpost by owner Roberto Bergamotti seamlessly transports guests to Palermo with its warm hospitality and dedication to the art of butchery that has been in the Bricco e Bacco family for generations.

At the heart of the experience is the steak—not just any steak, but a selection curated with the precision and passion of true carnezzieri. The menu reads like an epicurean's dream, boasting exquisitely dry-aged speciality cuts such as Italian Marango, the richly marbled Finnish Sashi, and the highly coveted Japanese Wagyu. Each cut is rated by marbling, softness, and flavour, allowing guests to select their ideal indulgence before it arrives rare, ready to be finished tableside on a searing Himalayan salt block. The theatre of cooking it to perfection oneself is an experience to savour, as the salt imparts a delicate minerality that heightens the natural richness of the beef.

Yet, Bricco e Bacco is far from a one-note performance. The restaurant’s wine list is an ode to Sicily’s viticultural heritage, featuring an extensive selection of Sicilian vintages alongside standouts from across Italy. Each bottle is expertly chosen to complement the robust, umami-laden flavours of the menu, ensuring a pairing as memorable as the meal itself.

Beyond the cuisine, service is paramount. Roberto himself is a presence in the dining room, exuding the kind of hospitality that turns first-time diners into lifelong patrons. His dedication is reflected in his team, every member of whom has been with the restaurant since its UK opening—an achievement that speaks volumes about the warmth and consistency of this establishment.

Bricco e Bacco offers a culinary journey rooted in tradition yet vibrantly alive in the present. Whether for an intimate dinner or a celebratory feast, this Sicilian gem is destined to be one of London’s most sought-after dining destinations.

Bricco e Bacco is open Monday through Saturday, from 12pm-4.30pm and 6pm-10.30pm.
